Olive Bean

Olive Bean came to us in an unusual manner. One day, several years ago, a storage trailer was opened at my wife's workplace and Olive was found inside. The trailer had not been used for around three weeks, so she most likely had been trapped inside all that time during the Florida summer. The poor kitty was immediately brought to my wife's office, because she is a known "cat nut". After giving her water, Olive's first meal was raw broccoli from a veggie platter in the room. My wife went quickly to a nearby store for proper cat food. She was still very much a kitten, and she was named after Olive Oyl, because of her emaciated state. She eventually was given the full sobriquet, Olive Bean, beacuse of the bean shaped marking on her front shoulder.

Spooky and a trip to Kitty City

Spooky , was a song made popular by the Classics Four. (Later Dennis Yost and The Classics Four) Spooky was not named with that song in mind, but for her real life spookiness. Spooky was also a comic strip cat drawn by Bill Holman, who did Smokey Stover. I often sing the "Spooky" song to her, but she prefers the song, "Shipoopi", from the Music Man, with modified lyrics. Spooky is one of our Calico sisters. Her sibling, Spunky will be featured soon.

Now for a trip to Kitty City. I was thinking of posting "Spooky" by the Classics Four, but everyone knows that one. Here's Kitty City by Aganaze Jones. Read more and purchase here.

Miss Eartha Kitty

This is the exotic and beautiful Eartha Kitty. Her voice is not raspy, like her name-sake's. It is distictively sweet. Eartha came to us after several owners. She is the most loving cat I've ever known. At some point in her life she had been a mother. She has had her front claws removed. A terrible thing to do to a cat just to "protect" the drapes or furniture. Please investigate this thoroughly if you are considering this operation for your cat.
